5 Steps for Standing Seam Roofing

Copper standing seam roofing

For when you are doing your standing seam roofing, here five quick tips to make your job that little bit better:

Step 1 - Allow an additional 3 - 5mm at the bottom of your sheet when you turn at the box gutter or eaves gutter.

Step 2 - Allow a 5 - 10mm gap at the top of all sheets from a wall. This will allow the sheet to expand in both directions and help minimise your expansion issues.

Step 3 - Use Enka venting under all profiles at all times, this really helps with condensation problems and can also pick up any slack in your base structure.

Step 4 - Don't be afraid to file your sheet terminations before you start to dress them, this will minimise the chance of a rip in your termination.

Step 5 - The age old classic: measure twice and cut once or measure three times order once!!!!
